In comparison with the old tin-lead (SnPb) alloys these melting points of standard lead-free alloys are 40 to 50\u00b0C higher.<br \/>\nFor a number of components and processes, a lower melting point lead-free alloy would be more desirable.<\/p>\n<p>When the melting point is low, the process temperatures can also be lowered. This means components and products which before would be damaged by high temperatures, now can be processed with a lot more ease.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>What does this mean in my different soldering processes?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>LMPA-Q\u00ae is a lead-free, low melting solder alloy with a final melting point of 176\u00b0C. This allows temperatures to go down significantly in soldering processes.<\/p>\n<p>For <strong>wave soldering<\/strong> typical solder bath settings for LMPA-Q\u00ae are around 230-250\u00b0C.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6837\" src=\"https:\/\/smans.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/Golfsolderen-LMPA-Q-temperaturen.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"297\" height=\"199\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In <strong>reflow soldering<\/strong> peak temperatures of 190-215\u00b0C are the norm with LMPA-Q\u00ae.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6834\" src=\"https:\/\/smans.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/Reflowsolderen-LMPA-Q-temperaturen.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"278\" height=\"212\" \/><\/p>\n<p>For <strong>selective soldering<\/strong>, there is a dual option.
