Rometron boosts production capacity with integrated solutions from Smans

In-house production for greater control and flexibility

To support their growth and innovation, Rometron decided to take full control of their electronics and cable harness production in-house. In collaboration with Smans, a complete SMT production line was installed — from board handling, printer, pick & place and oven to stock management. In addition, Rometron invested in the Komax Sigma 688 ST, a fully automatic wire production machine that can cut, strip and twist.

With this investment, Rometron processes more than 10,000 metres of wire annually for the wiring harnesses of their own systems. Twisting wires is a unique and crucial part of the process.

Integrated SMT line for maximum efficiency

The decision to install its own Surface Mount Technology (SMT) production line gives Rometron the ability to manage electronics assembly entirely in-house. The line is made up of carefully coordinated modules, resulting in:
