Description

The Fuji Feeder Finger is a precision-machined tape guide that converts your W08F feeder into a leaderless feeder. The plow blade detaches the cover tape and folds it out of the pick-and-place mechanism’s path.

Components such as resistors, capacitors, and chips are packaged in small pockets on a long strip, the component tape. Cut tape is a cut-off piece of that tape, useful for example for a prototype, a small production run, or when components are supplied as a short strip instead of on a full reel. Normally, such a piece of tape first needs to be extended with an empty leader to pass through the feeder, which costs time and material (splicing).

By eliminating cover tape routing and collection, feeder setup time drops by up to 80%. The plow blade makes it possible to load cut tape as short as 1.5″ (38.1 mm) without a cover tape leader. The operator can load paper or embossed tapes in under five seconds, with no component loss.
