Get more out of your Komax M1630 with the new black ink and ITM06

25-06-2026

Do you use a Komax M1630 for wire marking? If so, we have good news. Komax is introducing a new standard black ink and an updated Intelligent Technology Module (ITM06). Together, they ensure a more reliable marking process, less maintenance, and a lower total cost of ownership.

New standard black ink: better performance, less impact

The new black ink 2BK125 is now recommended as the standard ink for the Komax M1630. And for good reason.

Compared to previous black inks, this ink offers several advantages:

  • Better adhesion to most cable materials.
  • Longer shelf life of 24 months.
  • More cost-efficient to use.
  • Contains no CMR-classified components, resulting in a less harmful composition.

Are you currently using a different standard black ink? Then switching could yield significant benefits for your production process.

The 2BK125 ink is used together with the corresponding make-up fluid.

Both the 2BK125 ink and the corresponding make-up fluid are available from our webshop.

Less maintenance thanks to the new ITM06

The Intelligent Technology Module has also been updated.

With the new ITM06, you’ll need to replace the module less often. Whereas annual replacement used to be standard, the ITM06 lasts up to about 20 months in a typical production environment. That means less maintenance, less downtime, and less service planning.

The benefits at a glance:

  • Longer service life.
  • Less production downtime.
  • Fewer maintenance interventions.
  • Lower operating costs.
  • Higher printer availability

The ITM06 is also available through our online store.

Here’s how to make the switch easily

Are you currently using a different black ink and would you like to switch to the new 2BK125? A service intervention by a Smans technician is required.

When switching inks, the ink system must be thoroughly flushed. This ensures that no residue from the previous ink remains in the system and mixes with the new 2BK125 ink. Our service technician will carry out the changeover and ensure that the printer is correctly set up for use with the new ink and corresponding make-up fluid.
