Description
The F3 Leaderless Feeder Finger eliminates the need for cover tape leaders when loading entire reels and cut tape strips. The plow blade design folds and creases the cover tape flat as it moves through the feeder. Compared to the original equipment, the F3 Leaderless feeder offers enhanced flexibility: it can handle shorter tape strips of varying lengths, down to just one inch, for chips packaged in paper or embossed 8mm tape.
Components such as resistors, capacitors, and chips are packaged in small pockets on a long strip, known as component tape. This is normally loaded into the feeder on a full reel.
Cut tape is a cut-off piece of that tape, useful when you only need a limited number of components, for example for a prototype, a small production run, or when your components are supplied as a short strip instead of on a full reel. Normally, such a piece of tape first needs to be extended with an empty leader to pass through the feeder, which costs time and material (splicing). The F3 Leaderless Feeder Finger eliminates the need for this.
This “push-and-go” solution reduces feeder setup time by 80%, making it an essential tool for Yamaha customers. The Feeder Finger is designed for use in SMT (surface-mount technology) assembly, and its plow blade design ensures accurate component placement and reliable operation, streamlining production processes.
Benefits:
- Attaches easily to your existing feeder
- Handles cut tape as short as 3″ / 76.2 mm
- Eliminates splicing
- Loads in under 5 seconds
- Eliminates cover tape jams
- Up to 50% faster feeder setup
- Includes a Tape Push Tool for extra loading convenience
