Description
The placeALL®520 is an advanced pick-and-place machine designed for assembling and dispensing prototypes and pilot series at speeds of up to 4,000 components per hour. Thanks to its intelligent software and up to 200 kitting slots, changeover times are kept to a minimum, ensuring high productivity – even with small lot sizes. The machine supports a wide range of components, from 0201 chips to fine-pitch 70 × 70 mm with a pitch of 0.4 mm, including BGAs, CSPs, µBGAs, QFNs, and customer-specific parts such as connectors and wired LEDs.
Laser centering on the assembly head ensures fast, contactless alignment by measuring components during rotation, ideal for parts up to 32 × 32 mm and fine pitch up to 0.4 mm. For larger or more complex components, bottom vision offers powerful image recognition that calculates the exact placement position and checks the quality of BGAs and fine-pitch connections.
With smartFEEDER technology, feeders are equipped with microprocessor control and wireless barcode programming, so the machine automatically knows which components are loaded and where they are located – a major time saver during product changes. Automatic fiducial recognition further speeds up the positioning process and ensures error-free placement, even with multi-boards.
When no CAD data is available, the operator can easily teach new assemblies manually via the integrated visual interface, or import data using the CAD converter for fast project preparation. In addition, the placeALL®520 can be fully integrated into an inline transport system according to the SMEMA standard, ensuring seamless connection to reflow ovens, loaders, and transport modules.
Optionally, the machine can be expanded with dispensing systems for solder paste or adhesive, including a time pressure system or a microprocessor-controlled system that monitors parameters such as temperature and fill level – ideal for accurate dispensing in fine-pitch applications.
The placeALL®520 combines precision, flexibility, and automation in one compact solution—perfect for R&D, prototype production, and small series where reliability and efficiency are crucial.
