A cut-and-strip machine or crimping machine only reaches its full capacity when cable is fed to it smoothly and in a controlled way, and comes out neatly. Cable that is pulled jerkily or under too much tension from a heavy reel can stretch, tangle or throw off length accuracy. Wires that drop out of the machine uncontrolled have to be sorted afterwards and often get damaged. Wire handling makes sure every step around your production runs as well as the processing itself. That means less downtime, less scrap, less manual work and a safer workplace.
Prefeeders, unwinders and drum jacks feed cable to your machine evenly and without tension. The range runs from compact dereelers for boxes and spools to heavy-duty systems for reels of several hundred kilos and drums of several tonnes.
Wire stackers, cable coilers and binding modules collect the processed wires. They stack short wires axially and neatly coil and bind longer cables, ready for the next step.
These let you transfer cable from large drums to smaller reels, spools or custom coils safely and evenly. There are manual coilers for small volumes and motorised drum winders for intensive use.
Twisters twist wires together with a constant lay length into twisted pairs or bundles. That’s essential for data cables, signal lines and automotive wire harnesses.
With more than 50 years of experience and a broad multi-brand range, Smans helps you choose the right wire handling solution. Our advice is independent. We start from your application: the cables you process, the reels and drums you use, your volumes and the machines already in your production. That way we put together a solution that fits seamlessly into your existing processes, from feeding to depositing.
We’re also there for you after the purchase, with installation, maintenance, spare and wear parts, and training through the Smans Academy. That keeps your wire processing efficient and reliable for the long term.
